About This Listing

Reidford Cottage takes its name from the Reidford Hotel which was one of eight Hotels in the ruggedly beautiful Woolshed Valley in the late 1870’s, when there was a settlement of approximately 6000 people mining gold in this area.
The Cottage is on a secluded 40 acres of bushland adjacent to the Chiltern/Mt Pilot National Park. Our cottage is compact and comfortable. It is deal for a couple, or a family of up to 2 children. There is a queen size bed and a small bunk room with 2 beds, modern bathroom and kitchen, outside barbecue, TV, indoor and outdoor eating areas.
The numerous walking tracks on our 40 acres make it a great spot to holiday with dogs with no busy roads nearby so that dogs can be safely walked off-leash.
At Reidford, we practice sustainability and are not connected to the electricity grid or reticulated town water. We have a stand alone solar power system and water is provided by dams and rainwater tanks. The cottage is comfortably heated in winter with gas heating, and air conditioned in summer. Nearby Reedy Creek is a popular spot for gold panning and gemstone fossicking.
We are 15mins to the fabulous restaurants and shopping of Beechworth or 30 mins to Milawa and the Wine and Food
Intending guests should also be sympathetic to the notion of living sustainably.
OUR DOGS POLICY As dog owners we enjoy travelling with our dog and welcome guest's dogs; subject to a few reasonable conditions. If fully house trained, small to medium sized dogs are free to go inside the cottage and to sleep on their own bedding. Dogs are not allowed on bedding or furniture. We prefer that large dogs are accommodated on the enclosed front deck. We do not provide a kennelling service and dogs are not to be left behind when guests go out. We request that intending guests advise us if they intend bringing more than 2 dogs prior to confirming a booking. We also request that guests do not allow their dogs to harass wildlife
ACCOMMODATION RATES. Our rates are dependent of bedding and bedroom requirements. Please let us know your requirements at the time of your initial inquiry so that we may confirm the overall tariff for your intended stay.
MINIMUM STAYS Over Christmas/New Year period and Easter break, the minimum stay is 3 nights. At all other times the minimum stay is 2 nights.

A beautiful property away from it all. A great chance to explore the region and then sit back on the verandah and relax. The hosts were really lovely. We will definitely be back.

Great place to stay host and his dog Lucy made us very welcome. Accomodation was lovely, comfy bed beautiful location to take dogs on walks. Very relaxing we loved our stay.
